House rules

These rules apply at Housed Infinity in Kharadi and Housed Goodluck in Viman Nagar. Rent, deposit, lock-in, notice and refunds are on the Terms page.

Guests

  • Guests of the opposite gender are welcome in the common areas. They are not allowed inside rooms or flats.
  • Residents need approval from Housed Support to book a guest stay.
  • A guest stay depends on bed availability when the guest arrives, and the property staff must confirm it.
  • Guest KYC is submitted on the app.
  • At Housed Goodluck, which is for women only, visitors including family are received in the common area only.

Resident duties

  • Be respectful to the staff. Disrespect towards staff is not tolerated and results in eviction.
  • Be respectful to other residents and to the neighbours of the property.
  • Celebrations, loud conversations and music stop by 10:00 pm.
  • Keep your room clean and tidy, and keep a good environment for the people you share with.
  • Dry clothes only in the designated areas, not in rooms or corridors.
  • Drugs are strictly prohibited. A violation ends the agreement, and parents, guardians, institutes or employers and the local authorities are told.
  • Alcohol and tobacco are strictly prohibited. A violation results in eviction.
  • Illegal substances, betting and gambling are not allowed in the house. Housed may end the Resident Agreement at once and inform parents or college authorities.

Pantry, food and drink

  • Cook only in the pantry room. Cooking or reheating food inside a room is strictly prohibited.
  • Eat in the designated dining area.
  • Personal food can be kept in the common refrigerators. Label it. Housed is not liable if another resident eats it.
  • Leave the pantry clean after use: dirty dishes in the sink, leftovers and garbage in the right dustbins. Residents are liable for damage to common utensils.
  • If you order food from outside, dispose of the leftovers and packaging in the right dustbins.
  • Select dishes are served in limited quantities.

Water and electricity

  • Use water carefully and report leaks to Housed staff as soon as you see them.
  • When you leave the room, switch off lights, fans and all appliances, including ACs, heaters, geysers and mosquito-repellent machines.
  • When power runs on generator backup, use of appliances such as ACs, geysers, washing machines and lifts is restricted, and management may switch them off temporarily to save backup power.
  • Use the right containers in the microwave. Ask staff if in doubt.
  • Do not overload the washing machines and take your clothes out straight after use. Housed is not responsible for clothes left unclaimed.
  • Do not stock the fridge unnecessarily. Housekeeping may remove leftovers found in it.

Health, photography and police

  • Tell Housed staff at once if a serious or contagious illness is found, so other residents are not infected.
  • Take only medication prescribed by a registered medical practitioner on the premises.
  • Photography and filming are allowed if you respect other residents' privacy.
  • The common areas are under CCTV for safety. Do not block or change the view of a camera.
  • Tell the property manager before you call the police emergency number 100, and tell them straight away of any encounter with the police.

General

  • No animals or pets.
  • The residences are apolitical and areligious. No political or religious gatherings without the consent of the local management.
  • Staff may make spot checks of the house and rooms without notice.
  • Housed is not responsible for parcels delivered to the house. Collect them as soon as they arrive.
  • Electricians, contractors and other service persons may enter rooms when needed, under the supervision of Housed staff, who will respect your privacy and dignity.
  • Staff may move residents to other rooms if there is a need or an emergency.
  • Games and entertainment consumables (remote batteries, darts, dice, cue sticks, rackets and similar) are to be kept in good condition. A resident pays for loss or damage they cause.
  • Housed may revise these rules and will inform residents by notice. Not knowing about a change is not an excuse for breaking a rule.

Reporting misconduct

If someone you stay with behaves inappropriately, for example in an offensive, violent or sexually inappropriate way, or you suspect them of stealing, report them to the appropriate authorities first. Then write to housed.india@gmail.com with your police station and report number. A report does not oblige Housed to act beyond what the law requires.
