Nine questions to ask any PG before you pay
Ask these at every PG you visit, in Kharadi, Viman Nagar or anywhere else in Pune, and ask for the answers in writing. Our answers follow each question.
1. What is in the rent?
At Housed Infinity PG: Meals, 300 Mbps WiFi, AC, Daily housekeeping, Attached washroom in every room, Maintenance, Security (biometric, CCTV, guard), 100% power backup, 4 covered two-wheeler spots, no car parking. At Goodluck Girls PG: Meals (2 a day), 100 Mbps WiFi, Daily housekeeping, Attached washroom in every room, Power backup in common areas, Boom barrier, biometric, CCTV, 24-hour female guard, Self-service laundry, Two-wheeler parking.
2. Is electricity extra?
At Housed: on actuals at both PGs; meter readings by the 28th; split between residents by how long each stayed.
3. What is the deposit and when does it come back?
At Housed: one month's rent, refunded online by the 15th of the month after leaving, once dues are clear, items returned, no damage and the 30-day notice served.
4. What are the lock-in and the notice period?
At Housed: lock-in is 3 months and notice is 30 days.
5. Is there brokerage or a booking fee?
At Housed: no brokerage. Pre-booking fee ₹1,000: one-time, non-refundable, adjusted against the first month's rent.
6. When is rent due and how is it paid?
At Housed: monthly in advance through the Housed app, by the 5th.
7. What are the meals?
Housed Infinity PG: Pure vegetarian. Breakfast and dinner Monday to Friday; all three meals Saturday and Sunday. Residents may cook in the pantry room. Goodluck Girls PG: Pure vegetarian with Jain options; breakfast and dinner. Mini cooking allowed per house rules.
8. How do I manage my stay after moving in?
At Housed: residents manage their stay on the Housed app, where rent is paid and notice is raised. Or call 080005 80800 or message us on WhatsApp.
9. What security is there?
Housed Infinity PG: security with biometric entry, CCTV and a guard. Goodluck Girls PG: boom barrier, biometric entry, CCTV and a 24-hour female guard.
